A-Rod's 600th Home Run: Boo or Cheer?

July 23rd, 2010   (185 views )

(AP) - It's 599 down, and one to go for Alex Rodriguez
in his pursuit of 600 career home runs. A-Rod slugged No. 599 in
the Yankees' 10-4 win over Kansas City. He's one shy of becoming
the seventh major leaguer to swat 600 homers.

A-Rod admits to using performance-enhancing drugs from 2001-2003.
Does his record taint baseball?

Who cares about this overpriced nitwit

I'm more worried about our out of control President-The White House says the government is now borrowing 41 cents of every dollar it spends. The deficit for the current fiscal year is forecast to hit a record $1.47 trillion,

Of course RNN wouldn't talk about anything this trivial

Duh! Of course it does. All the home runs A- Rod hit during that period and then some are suspect and just as invalid as, hmmmmmmmm...
...everyone else who was given the ole' blind eye, wink and a nod- by THE FIXER Bud Selig.
What a travesty it is that you have in baseball a doddering half imbecile commissioner whose zero tolerance policy has allowed the likes of "Jumbo" Mark McGwire, Roger Clemens, Jason Giambi and A-pod to continue to represent baseball after they not only violated the rules, they all lied when given the chance to come clean before Congress. THEY LIED TO THE BASEBALL FANS OF THIS COUNTRY AND HAVE FOREVER SULLIED THE RECORD BOOKS OF AMERICA'S GREATEST PASTIMES.

The best thing that could happen when the event happens is that everyone remain silent, ... in tribute to "the good ole days", when the achievement of breaking a record was the award for tenacity, merit and playing by the rules.

If that happened, maybe for once A-rod would take the time to ask himself was it worth it. It would also be a good lesson for the promoters of baseball.
I know that as a player even if I played on the same team, I would begrudge this pseudo accomplishment.

Finally something we can agree on!!! Well said. A-Rod is a money hungry self serving bum. Greater than life legends like Mickey Mantle is the only thing that baseball should be all about.

Babe Ruth with an ordinary wooden bat is an athlete and a wonder. Not only performance-enhancing drugs, but baseball bats and the balls are made out of various materials, not used by the original athletes.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it! Instead, you have to be willing to make time each day to do your blogging and you also have to make sure you know what you are doing before you start.
